Comprehensive coverage: What is it? Comprehensive coverage is defined by the state as:

Comprehensive coverage is a valuable coverage to have- especially on a newer vehicle. This coverage helps you repair or replace, in the event of damage to the vehicle, for a covered loss other than colliding with another vehicle.
For example, Johnny was driving down Burnt Store Road on his way to work. Being a CO, Johnny always goes to work before sunrise, when the roads are dark. A wild boar came charging out onto the highway, giving him no notice to break. The boar collided with Johnny’s vehicle- causing over $2,000 in damages to Johnny’s brand new 2017 car. Thankfully, when purchasing his insurance Johnny decided to add comprehensive coverage, as recommended by his agent. He paid a small deductible and his car was replaced in no time… Johnny was back on the road again!
